The number of driving licence courses is growing rapidly and some new, unconventional ways of preparing the applicants for the exams appear on the market. One of such new products is a theory test application for mobile devices. This very modern solution allows the users to practise for the driving exam anytime, without carrying around the test books. The application is created on the Java Micro Edition platform which is compatible with most mobile operating systems. The official theory test application can be installed not only on mobile phones but also other mobile devices such as a handheld computers or a personal digital assistant (PDA.) The application consists of two parts, the first includes a multiple choice question section based on the highway code, and the second one comprises the theoretical explanation of the correct answers. While starting each theory test you are given some hints and description of the rules. The application is directed not only for those who are preparing for the driving licence exam but also for those who have already passed the exam and want to revise the basic theory of driving. The authors offer also a comparable software for other electronic devices such as PCs or laptops.
